Jump in that jumpsuit!

Jumpsuits, are the best garments ever made. Inspired by workers/aviator overalls, they're the sexiest most comfortable thing to wear now. They're perfect for us girls who aren't into skirts or dresses.

This is a wardrobe staple that every girl should have in her closet. It just fits everyone.

Because it's one of my favorite must-haves, I came up with these benefits of wearing a jumpsuit.

- You can wear them all the time, from day to night (depending of course on the jumpsuit model you have)

 - When you're going to a formal event last minute and just wish you can stick to pants, a dressed up jumpsuit will do the deed. Specially when you're not ready to glam up in a dress,

 - They're my - without thinking - option when you're having those OMG I feel fat fazes, and will always look good.

- Can be dressed down with trainers, and transformed into a glamorous outfit when worn with heels by adding some extra accessories.

In my opinion, every girl should have at least 2 pairs of jumpsuits, in her wardrobe. Have one that are more casual and another that is dressy, specially if you're not a girly dress type of girl.

Skirts on pants?!..........yes or no?

This may be a new trend over the world this season, but Egyptian women have owned this look  for years now. It's a special favourite among veiled women, since they don't have the privilege of wearing short skirts, they came up with the idea of wearing them over their pants.

I've never been a big fan of this particular trend. I believe that a skirt is made to be worn separately as well as the pants, and not to be combined together.

The good news is, for those fashionistas that are willing to try this trend here are some inspirations on how to pull it off!

For a casual non-dressy look, pair jeans and a nice top with a puffy mesh skirt, barely showing the jeans. Loving, the layering in this skirt.

This looks like something to wear at a formal event, when you've had no time to go on your wax session. Wear a chiffon skirt on a pair of dressy pants and a nice strapless top.

This look would work perfectly for work. Specially if you're working in one of those Egyptian conservative companies that don't allow you to wear skirts unless they cover your toes. but this outfit is great for a conservative formal look.

Halloween costumes inspired by Egyptian Movies

Halloween is around the corner, everyone is running around to look for costumes and find some inspiration on what to wear.

.

So,I did some research and found some ideas from Egyptian movies, that can be pulled-off as costumes for your Halloween party.

Al- Nazara Al Sawdaa ( the black sunglasses), Do a Nadia Lotfy look with black sunglasses and a LBD. A change from the Audrey Hepburn costume. You can add a blond wig.

Ma3lesh E7na Benetbahdel, the famous se3eedy character.

Abla Kamel in Awdet Al Nadla, all you need is hoop earrings, a turtle neck, checkered shirt and a head scarf

Al Nom Fel 3asal, For a group of three, that's a funny costume. All you need is a melaya (sheet) or a big towel and walk around covering yourselves (see the picture)

Mohamed Heneidy in Wesh Egram. The Hitler Mustache and the se3eedy cap.

Abdo Motta, This is for all the gym freaks- look at me kind of guy. Wrap the snake around your neck and have two balady mozzas walking behind you.

The police man and the four kitties.

From the old Arabic movie Yasmine, Forget about Wednesday Addams from the Addams family we have Yasmine, the poor street performer.

I don't know what they were thinking really, but they're outfits already look like costumes.

The Egyptian Mrs. Doubtfire.

This could go for a couple Hend rostom and youssef Shahine, acting as the train station vendors from the movie Bab El Hadid.

Finally, for the not so outthere women, be inspired by the Egyptian Cinderella Soad Hosny, in this polka dot outfit.

Pulling off the distressed denim look

When a new trend is in, people in Cairo tend to go overboard and you see people wearing or doing the same thing everywhere to the point it sickens you and you hate it.

I've been going out lately, everywhere I turn I see women wearing ripped jeans. They made me hate the trend even though I've been wearing ripped jeans for years now. It's not a new thing, back in the days people would think that you're from some punk/ rock chic or they would look at you as you're dirty or something.

But, now its ripped jeans eeeeverywheere, even old women in their 50's are wearing ripped jeans.
Its become so much, that a friend of mine told me that he had women coming in for an interview in ripped jeans. Which is a whole other story ( U don't even wear jeans to an interview!!!) what are you thinking?

You have to know what suits you best, many trends don't suit everybody. Not just because it's in fashion, means you have to follow the trend and wear it. What you wear is a definition of your style and partially who you are.

So, if you want to be trendy here are some tips, on pulling off the trend. But first, know what suits you best!

Keep it simple.
Don't go overboard with the rips on the jeans, it's just ugly. If you want to show off so much skin         you're better off without them.

It's nice to show off some skin, but just a peek, keep it classy.

Mix and Match
Give your outfit and edge, like keep the top formal but the ripped jeans would give the not so formal look to it. By wearing a blazer or a white shirt.

Finally, please please please. Know your fit!
When it comes to ripped jeans, go for the boyfriend fit or if you want to go for the skinny fit buy ones that fit comfortably so you don't end up looking like this while pulling off the ripped look..

Alexander Wang with H&M

Alexander Wang and H&M collaborated on a new collection that is sports-themed.
H&M realeased some teaser photos of the collection that will hit stores on November 6th.

The collection includes strappy bodycon dresses, mesh panels, and one very sexy sports bra. And don't overlook the models themselves — the "dream team," including soccer player Andy Carroll, kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos, and models Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, and Natasha Poly.
However, seeing this collection on these models, makes you wonder is it going to be flattering on everyone and fit as perfectly as they look, since they're all skin tight outfits.

Will H&M Egypt honour us with a taste of Wang's collection? Let's wait and see.

Scroll down to see some of the collection.

Black Raven- Secret Society Fashion Cult

Yesterday, I went to one of Cairo’s night-spots, which is a pretty casual place where you can dance and have fun with your friends. I’m not here to talk about the place anyways, its one of my favourite places in Cairo. But, I couldn’t help but notice the sense of fashion people have here.
Like seriously, can’t you people use a bit of creativity and experiment with clothes? Style is not about wearing what everybody else wears. Style defines you as a person and should be unique to each person. Fashion in the other hand is following the trends but still you should add your own flavor to it.
So, everybody in the place was dressed the same, whether its guys or girls. I mean I understand that black is sexy and classy! But, seriously it felt more as if we’re at a funeral or like the girls were just 1 person that has been divided to many. 90% of girls in that place wore BLACK skinny jeans with a BLACK tank top or blouse, not to mention hair and make-up, they all just looked the same. I felt I was lost there everytime I searched for a friend I just couldn’t find them because they all wore the same. You know, even if you want to stick with black atleast play around with styles, like wear a cropped wide legged pants, for example. The minority of girls though wore a bit differently and there was some color there but still they were all covered by these CATWOMEN wannabes.

Not to mention the guys, I mean I know you don’t have much of creativity and choices in your clothing, all you need is a t-shirt and a pair of jeans mainly. But, why were you all hiding under your hoodies? Is this like something that makes you look cool now? It felt like i was in some secret society ritual where all the men wore capes with hoodies.

So, eventually I felt confined in a dark  smoky place, all girls dressed in BLACK and guys covering their faces with their hoodies, it was more scary than fun!

I wish people would experiment more with their clothes and be brave to be different. It’s not a problem to be different than others, it shows how open you are to new things.

My conclusion is, some people need to understand what it is to have style and find what suits you best and stick to it. Also, not because everybody is doing it so you have to do it too! Have some character.
